Right Time to Buy Washington Commanders Tickets

If you’ve been searching our site for a while, you would have noticed a theme. We focus on two things. Cheaper tickets with great experience value. We will discuss the experience more when we get into the seating selection.

For now, you have to decide on which game you would like to attend. We always suggest you watch for ticket prices two weeks prior to the game you want to see. You will also want to watch a few different sections so you can see if there are some real price swings.

Although you probably don’t want Washington to lose, after a loss when you should be really looking. This is when sellers will be afraid that they won’t get the full price for their tickets. If they are coming off two losses, you may even see prices shift to the downside as well.

There are a lot of variables when it comes to timing. It will be up to you to follow the prices and make the move when you are comfortable.

Where to Sit at FedEx Field?

Although FedEx isn’t the oldest stadium, it is missing an intimate feel with a lot of luxuries that many new stadiums have. We will go over some of the sections to consider when going to a game at FedEx Field.

Lower Level – The lower level is probably where you want to be when it comes to a game. This gives you the best views and a much closer feel. If you want to be behind the bench look for sections 101 & 142. If you are rooting for the opponent or you’re looking to save a few bucks look at the opponent’s bench in sections 121 and 133.

Dream Seats – The most sought-after tickets in the stadium, the dream seats give you all kinds of perks. From private bathrooms to padded seats, this is a great way to watch a game.

Terrace Seats – The crazy thing about these seats is, that you have obstructed views. It’s the oddest-built stadium in the league. We don’t suggest you buy tickets here.

Club Seats – Again, there is nothing special about these seats, but they do give you some amenities we think you would enjoy. There are plenty of lounges, bars, restaurants, and other things you will have access to.

Upper Level – We would never recommend you buy upper deck seats and this is especially the case in Washington. You are so far away, you will most likely be watching the game on the big screen. If you have a big family and can get cheap tickets, go for it.

Suites – Still not all that great in comparison to other suites in the league, if you can find your way inside a suite you will be good to go. Pretty much every perk in the place is offered to you here.

Grab a Parking Pass at FedEx Field

Get ready to fork over some money for parking. The closest local transit is the Metro, which is about a mile walk. We suggest you drive but get your parking pass ahead of time. This will save you the hassle of not being prepared. You will pay on average about $50. This could be close to the cost of a game ticket, so if you can find a parking pass with your tickets, you may want to consider it.

Places to Eat Near the Stadium

There really isn’t anything local to eat around FedEx Field. So, we are going to give you a couple of places to consider in the DC area. These may be far, but worth considering at some point.

Ella’s Wood-Fired Pizza – This is some seriously good pizza. You have a ton of Pizza options that even the kids will enjoy. They also have an extensive beer and wine list. This menu looks great.

Black’s Bar & Kitchen – This is a chill spot located in Bethesda, MD. It gets a big crowd most nights, so a reservation is recommended. You will be surprised by all of the good eats you will find here.

Need a Place to Stay Overnight

With FedEx being so far from everything, hotels are not in a nearby location. We will list a couple of spots to stay, but you will need to do your research on what you are looking for.

Hampton Inn & Suites Glenarden/Washington DC – This will be a bed and nothing more. Your location is in a decent range, but that is about it. The cost will be around $120 a night.

Residence Inn by Marriott Largo Medical Center Drive – Again, this is more about location than a five-star hotel. The price will be around $150 and you will get a nice clean bed for the night. Stay the night.

Ticket Purchasing Options Available

Buying Washington Commanders tickets doesn’t have to be difficult. You now know when to buy and where to consider sitting. Now, we will go over some options that may help you save money or even make money on your tickets.

Season Tickets – Although a very expensive upfront cost, season tickets are a great way to get tickets to your favorite team. Some teams require seat licenses, but once those are established you can then purchase season tickets each year. This is a great way to buy tickets if you plan to go to two or more games. The games you don’t plan to attend you can sell fairly easily on a good year and at cost on a down year. There are pros and cons to doing this but you should consider this option.

Last-Minute Seats – The days of a street scalper are in the past. You can now walk up to the stadium and purchase NFL tickets right from your phone. You can even purchase tickets after the game has started from sellers who weren’t able to sell their seats. This is a risky method, but also a great way to save a lot of money.

A Brief Washington History

The Washington Commanders has been a professional team for over 90 years and continues to thrive. Although the name has changed from the Washington Redskins, they are considered one of the most successful franchises.

Washington has been in the NFC East since the NFL merger. They have five Super Bowl appearances with three victories. They have also won their division numerous times.

You can expect heated divisional rivalry games against the Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, and Philadelphia Eagles. Each of these games will be more costly than the others, so keep that in mind. They’ve also created a nice little rivalry with the Baltimore Ravens, who are only 30 minutes away. Demand will go up for these games, so prices will rise.

There have been some legendary players that have come through Washington. Plenty of Hall of Famers are now enshrined in Canton. Some of the great Washington players include Joe Theismann, Doug Williams, Darrell Green, Art Monk, Bart Starr, Sean Taylor, Sam Huff, Dave Butz, Charles Taylor, and Sonny Jurgensen.

You can learn more about the Washington Commanders on NFL.com or any of the major sports outlets.
