Delta Center

It doesn’t matter what the name of the building is as long as the product inside is worth seeing. Home to the Utah Jazz, the Delta Center has been hosting live events since 1991. Located in Salt Lake City, Utah, the arena is the largest live event center in the area. The Jazz is the number one tenant in this building, but other sporting teams do use this venue as their home. You can see the arena football team, Utah Blaze, and the women’s basketball team, Utah Starzz.  Along with sports, there have been major concert acts to come through. Some performers that headlined the Delta Center include Jimmy Buffett, Keith Urban, Green Day, Lady Gaga, and Eric Church. Listed right below are concerts and sporting events. Best Place to Sit in the Delta Center

Since its inception in 1991, the Utah Jazz has done a very good job renovating the Delta Center to provide better seating, amenities, and concessions to make every trip better. We will go over some of the best seats in Delta Center as well as areas you should maybe avoid. Each event will have tons of tickets available so it will be up to you when it comes to experiencing and making memories.

We know how expensive tickets have gotten over the years and there doesn’t seem to be a let-up on rising costs. In this case, you may have to do some extra digging to help you save some money without sacrificing your views.

Lower Level – The lower level seats go around the whole arena giving you different vantage points of a Jazz game or concert. If you would like to sit behind the Jazz bench look for seats in section 6 and if you want to sit behind the opponent bench look in section 8. These two sections tend to be the more expensive sections in the lower level other than the courtside seats.

Courtside Seats – Although we like the 200 club-level seats in most venues, there is something about Utah Jazz courtside seats if you can fork over the price. Since the last renovation, the seats courtside have ramped up. When searching for these seats look for any seat in the first row surrounding the court. More than likely you’ll have a hard time finding tickets here, but keep looking.

Upper Level – This is usually the area we suggest you avoid unless there are no other seats left or the budget isn’t there. These are not premium seats and your views could be rough. You could find yourself watching the game on the big screen above. If you can find a good ticket deal that gets you in really cheap then that is a win. Just don’t overpay for those sections in the upper level.

Clubs and Beyond – The renovations have brought the facility up to the standards we all enjoy. If you like going to the clubs inside the arenas, then this is the place for you. Look for the Toyota Club and Eide Bailly Club as some of the premier locations. Get access to all-inclusive food and drinks, smaller lines, and plush seating. Each club will then have another upgrade such as the Lexus Club and WCF Insurance Club. These can get you VIP parking, In-Seat Waiter service, and more. ***Something to be aware of is sponsor changes. This happens quite frequently.

Past – Present – Future

A lot has changed over the years at the Delta Center. From names to renovations, this home of the Utah Jazz is now a great place to go visit for an event. Each year the venue puts on dozens of performances and it seems like it will be the home for local teams for some time to come.

Constructed in 1990 and opened in 1991, the Delta Center is home to the NBA team Utah Jazz. This location was once known as the Delta Center, EnergySolutions Arena, and Delta Center. Names will come and the building will always keep upgrading. Currently, the Utah Jazz can host a capacity of just over 18,000. During concerts, you can see up to around 20,000 people.

The recent upgrades included several new clubs, better technology throughout, and new plush-type seats. The crazy thing about this building is that it only cost $93 million to construct. They left a lot off the checklist which kept some musical acts away since the sound was not the best. Now that they’ve modified that, more and more acts are coming to town.

Some of the big acts that have come through over the years include Taylor Swift, Drake, Tool, 2Cellos, Blake Shelton, and Rhianna.

What is next is not fully known at this time. We suggest you find the best seats inside the Delta Center to increase your chances of an amazing experience.

Park the Car

We will suggest public transportation at most venues around the US. The Delta Center is no different. There are several parking garages surrounding the area. If you plan to drive we suggest you get your pass ahead of time. Delta Center has relationships with parking apps such as ParkWhiz. You can purchase your pass for around $25 per event. Keep this in mind when budgeting for your tickets as well. The unwanted expense of driving your car.

Expectations on Entrance

Security is the arena’s number one concern. They want you to have a great time without any issues. To make this happen they do have their rules set in place. Be sure to only bring a small purse or handbag. Avoid backpacks or anything bulky.

Have your credit or debit cards ready. NBA arenas are cashless. If you plan to go to the Delta Center more than a few times you may want to establish the arena’s digital wallet. You can sometimes find savings, rebates, and discounts when you use the wallet.

Covid-19 – As of right now, there are no restrictions on event access due to Covid. If you are not feeling well, you may want to stay home otherwise you will not need a mask or vaccination card. Should things escalate you may find new warnings or other things that the venue or promoter suggests. Please make sure you read through the information before attending your event.

Food Options Outside the Building

Part of going to a game or concert is the food and drinks you take in. Venue food and drinks are very expensive so you may want to check out some other place before entering. We listed a few options to consider when coming to the area.

Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar – This would be a great place to go before a concert. You’ll have options with all kinds of steaks, prime beef, and lobster. Although it is quite expensive you will also receive amazing service.

Nacho Daddy – Salt Lake City – Perfect for game night, is Nacho Daddy. Get access to some of the best nachos with all kinds of toppings. It’s a unique spot that offers all kinds of beverages as well.
