The TLA – The Theater of the Living Arts
When we talk about intimate venues to see big bands, this is the spot. You sometimes wouldn’t know the band’s future until after you’ve seen a show in this 1000-person capacity venue. This is a first-floor general admission standing room location with seats on the balcony. There are VIP locations that will carry more expensive tickets. This stadium is way bigger than one would have thought since it is an Ivy League school. However, this 52,000-seat facility has plenty of bleacher and chair-style seats. The Met Philadelphia
After going through a major renovation The Met reopened as one of the best music venues in Philadelphia. It has a general admission floor and plenty of seats in the outside areas providing normal seats and box seats. It can hold up to 3500 people. Temple University has a lot to offer its student and on top of that, they have an indoor arena that supports over 10,000 people. Although it is mainly used for indoor basketball teams you can definitely find some cool concerts. It has a lower and upper ring that surrounds the court and when a concert is happening from the likes, of Coldplay, Kanye West, Jay-Z, and others, the seating will become more intimate. Home to the Philadelphia Eagles, Lincoln Financial Field is one of those places home to many other events. The stadium is capable of holding over 70,000 people in all kinds of seating arrangements. This is a spot in Philadelphia where you get three venues in one. You have the Merriam Theater, the Kimmel Center, and the Academy of Music. Prince Theater – Philadelphia Film Center
This relatively small venue is perfect for a personal event near you. With only enough room in the theater for 450 people, the Prince Theater allows you to really feel the entertainer’s performance. It is a standing-room-only location, so when you buy tickets you should be faced with the same price for all tickets. They do set up VIP locations if the crowd is going to be large, which will bring a higher-priced ticket. You are looking at a capacity of about 1,200 guests. Some great performers have passed through this location through the years. Bands such as the War on Drugs, The XX, and Tame Impala have all played Union Transfer.

One of the cool things about the suburbs of Philadelphia is that you can find theaters and venues there as well. Located at 291 N Keswick Ave, Glenside, PA 19038, The Keswick Theatre resides. This is a 1300-person seating venue. They do not have general admission or standing-room-only sections. Some amazing talent has passed through Keswick and continues to currently. This site is one of many venues that provide an excellent place to see a concert or comedy show. With general admission and seats, you can see around 2500 people inside for a packed event. Always consider VIP seats if you want something even more special. Panic! at the Disco, David Bowie, and Guns N’s Roses have stopped by at one point. This is a general admission location with very limited seating. This also means most of the tickets should cost similar in price. You can expect around 600 people to any one show. They bring in some great acts before they go mainstream. Imagine seeing Dua Lip, The War on Drugs, and The1975 with only 600 people. The University of Pennsylvania provides a lot of different locations for entertainment. One of those spots is the Annenberg Center. It is located on campus at 3680 Walnut St, Philadelphia, PA 19104. It can host almost 1000 people and is a fully seated location, but can provide general admission when the performance requires it. This is a great spot to take in some jazz artists or a Broadway style of play.
This is the one spot in Philadelphia that is worth mentioning only because it attracts some big acts for such a small venue. There are two different spaces that provide live entertainment. You can expect around 600 people in a general admission show and around 300 when seats are in place. All kinds of music acts come through the cafe. Even the likes of John Legend, Adele, and the Alabama Shakes have passed through. Okay, Okay, we know it’s not Philadelphia, but we felt like adding one more big amphitheater to the mix. It’s right across the bridge in Camden, NJ at 1 Harbour Blvd, Camden, NJ 08103. The Freedom Mortgage Pavilion can hold almost 25,000 people for an outdoor event. It has a mix of seats and lawn areas just like The Mann. Subaru Park – Located in Chester, PA, this soccer complex hosts the Philadelphia Union, an MLS club. It is located at 2501 Seaport Dr, Chester, PA 19013. It can hold up to 18,500 fans for their big games. You will see the big matches such as International Friendly games and the CONCACAF Champions League. When it hosts a concert, you can see as many as 26,000 people inside this complex.
