The USC Trojans are one of college football’s most historic programs. Multiple national championships and Heisman Trophy winners give testament to that claim. And there have been many great moments throughout Trojan history. There was the 1964 battle with UCLA when OJ Simpson ran for 64 yards and the game-winning touchdown to give the Trojans a 21-20 victory over then number 1 UCLA on their way to the national championship. There was Pat Haden hitting Sheldon Diggs for the two-point conversion to give the Trojans an 18-17 victory over Ohio State. in the 1975 Rose Bowl on the way to another Trojan national championship. Under Pete Carroll, Matt Leinart, and Reggie Bush, the Trojans won a pair of national championships. The first they cinched up with a 28-14 victory over Michigan in the 2004 Rose Bowl, while the second was secured in a 55-19 victory over Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl. And in more recent history, the Trojans (led by Sam Darnold) overcame a two-touchdown deficit, kicking a field goal as time expired to defeat Penn State. 52-49.
