The album “Astroworld”, supervised by Mike and Scott Dean can be described as a mix of musical techniques and textures, with synths, guitars, and pianos creating a psychedelic and creative musical world. The name of the album was inspired by a former amusement park from Scott’s hometown, Houston. This may be the reason for which after listening to the album, the fans are left with the feeling they spent a crazy, sticky, up and down day at the carnival.
The album features several guests from the pop area – the Weeknd, Drake, Frank Ocean, from the indie stream – James Blake, Kevin Parker and from the new-wave rap – Sheck Wes, Gunna, Juice WRLD. Scott’s Houston roots are visible in the album through references made to local legends such as Big Moe, Fat Pat, and Hawk.
“Sicko Mode” track can be seen as the album’s highlight: it features Swae Lee and Drake, it contains samples from Miami’s diplomat Uncle Luke and from New York’s mayor Biggie Smalls and changes its beat four times. “Sicko Mode” is not the only song that has a changing beat: on “Stargazing”, the fans are pleased with two different musical movements: first is a slow, psychedelic-like one and the second is a high, urgent one.
The most surprising track of the album is the last one, called “Coffee Bean”, as its sound is different from all the others included in Scott’s third full-length release: the track inspires a smooth jazz atmosphere based on a gently playing guitar.

Born Jacques Webster on the 30th of April 1992 in Houston, Texas, Travis Scott was raised by her grandmother before moving to live with his father in the suburbs. In his second year of college, he decided to drop out so he could follow a musical career, which determined his parents to withdraw their financial support.
Scott moved to New York City in pursuit of a career as a record producer of hip hop music, spending a lot of time at a recording studio. In 2007 he formed alongside his friend, Chris Holloway, a band called “The Graduates”. In 2008, the duo released on “MySpace” their first EP. The years that followed brought Scott difficulties in both his personal and professional life: without the financial support of his parents, he found it harder to survive every day. But in 2014, TI from “of Grand Hustle Record” heard “Lights Love Sick”, a song produced and sang by Scott and offered him a deal. The same year, Scott released his own song called “Don’t Play”, which became a great hit. This single was a preview of his debut studio album called “Days Before Rodeo”.
The success of “Don’t Play” determined Scott begin “The Rodeo Tour” alongside producer Metro Boomin and rapper Young Thug. The tour turned Travis Scott into an overnight sensation, thanks in part to the guest appearances made by artists like Birdman, Kanye West, Wale and Chris Brown in various venues of the tour, often cited as one of the wildest rap live tours of our days.
With the album “Rodeo” released in September 2015, Scott hit the jackpot: it debuted at # 3 on “Billboard 200” and reached Number 1 on the “Billboard Rap Album” chart.
A year later, in 2016, his collaboration with Thug on the single “Pick Up The Phone’” brought Travis double-platinum certification granted by the “Recording Industry Association of America”. The rapper’s rise to fame continued also in 2016, when his second album, “Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight”, released on “Apple Music” and “iTunes”, reached Number 1 on “Billboard 200”.
2017 brought Scott other premieres: he performed at the “New Orleans BUKU Music + Art Project festival”, he toured in Europe in support of the “Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight” album, he made a surprise appearance at 2017 MTV Video Music Award, singing a fragment from “Butterfly Effect”, while “30 seconds to Mars” sang “Walk On Water” and performed also at “All-Star Weekend” in New Orleans. All these performances didn’t prevent Travis from releasing new material: “A Man” and “Green & Purple” featuring Playboi Carti were issued on SoundCloud and they were followed by “Butterfly Effect”. The next release was “Astroworld” album, which you can hear and see live in “The Wish You Were Here Tour”, by getting your tickets.
As for personal life, Scott proved on various occasions he is generous with the ones less fortunate than him, recently offering a fan $800 for his mother’s funeral. In April 2017, Travis Scott started dating Kylie Jenner and in February 2018 they welcomed their daughter Stormi.
