“Soul2Soul” tour film was premiered also on November 17th, 2017, is available on-demand and on the internet. The documentary features live performances from the tour, “behind the scene” footage and never seen before interviews with Tim and Faith.
The same date, “Sony Music Entertainment” launched “The Rest of Our Life” – the first album together of McGraw & Hill. At each purchased ticket, the fans who want to see the two singers perform “live” will receive a copy of their new album. “The Rest of Our Life” album contains tracks already well-received by the public, such as the song title or “Speak to a girl”, released on March 23rd, 2017.
“Speak to a girl” has been performed live for the first time at the “Academy of Country Music Awards” held on the 2nd of April 2017.
Three days before the release of their album, on November 14th, 2017, McGraw & Hill were granted the “Legends of Live” award, during the annual “Billboard Touring Conference” which took place in Beverly Hills.
As stated in the media, the decision to continue the “Soul2Soul” world tour in 2018 came after the show has reached almost 1.000.000 fans attending the concerts. This performance is due to thorough and well-planned show production, to a generous list of hits performed and to the obvious chemistry that McGraw & Hill offer their public when singing together. Moreover, the 2017 tour, which started in April, was one of the most grossing and successful U.S. tours of last year.
Tim McGraw & Faith Hill began touring together in 1996, while McGraw was performing his “Spontaneous Combustion” tour. Four years later, the couple created the “Soul2Soul” franchise and conducted the year’s most profitable tour.
“Soul2Soul II” returned to the road in 2006 – 2007 and achieved two new performances: the most attended US tour of the year in any musical genre and the most profitable country music multi-year tour conducted in North America. Since its debut in the year 2000, “Soul2Soul” tour has earned $350 million.
Samuel Timothy “Tim” McGraw is the son of a star pitcher – Tug McGraw – which played for the “New York Mets” and the “Philadelphia Phillies”. He grew up thinking that his father is Horace Smith, which was actually his stepfather. He didn’t know the truth until he was 11.
McGraw signed a recording contract with “Curb Records” in 1990, but his debut album failed to reach success. “Not a Moment Too Soon”, his second album, became the selling country album of 1994.
McGraw’s impressive career includes more than 50 million records sold, 11 consecutive albums that debuted at “Number One” in the “Billboard” albums charts, 10 “American Music” awards, 3 “Grammy” awards, 14 “Academy of Country Music” awards, 11 “Country Music Association” awards and 3 “People’s Choice” awards.
His singles – “It’s your love”, “Just to see you smile” and “Live like you were dying” climbed the top of charts in 1997, 1998 and 2004.
Another performance achieved by McGraw is that “Something like that” was the “Most played song of the decade” in any musical genre in the 2000s.
McGraw is the most played country artist since his debut, two of his singles spending over 10 weeks as “Number One” in charts.
Taylor Swift’s debut single, “Tim McGraw,” is about him. When he was asked what he thought when he heard the song for the first time, Tim replied, “It was awesome. I didn’t know if I should take it as a compliment or if I should feel old.”
McGraw’s life has had also some down moments. He managed to quit drinking in 2008 after his wife, Faith Hill (to whom he is married since 1996), has warned him that drinking was taking control of his life.
Faith Hill, Tim McGraw’s partner on and off the stage, has also an impressive musical career: 4 “Billboard Music” awards, 5 “Grammys”, 4 “American Music” awards, 4 “People’s Choice” awards, 12 “Academy of Country Music” awards and 3 “Country Music Association” awards.
Songs like “This kiss”, “Cry” and “Breathe” became international hits, reaching #1 in several charts. Her albums have climbed to top positions also in “Billboard Top 100” and country charts, often at the same time. Her 7 studio albums have sold more than 30 million copies worldwide.
