The Charlotte Hornets Pack the Stands
The Charlotte Hornets are one of the newer teams within the NBA, but that hasn’t had an impact on their popularity. Tickets to Charlotte Hornets games are big items, and fans love cheering on their home team. If you’re looking for great seats to a basketball game, this is the team to watch.
Based out of Charlotte, North Carolina, the Hornets have seen a lot of ups and downs during their time as a pro team. They were founded in 1988, but in 2002, the original franchise moved to New Orleans, becoming the New Orleans Hornets. In 2004, a new team—the Charlotte Bobcats—came into existence. Once the New Orleans team changed its name to the Pelicans, the Bobcats rebranded themselves as the Hornets, restoring the original name back to the Charlotte team for the 2014-2015 season. They’ve kept the name ever since. They’re technically a newer expansion team than the original Hornets, but fans are not complaining.
The Hornets have seen some great players come through their team, with Bobby Phills #13 jersey being retired. He closed out his professional basketball career with the Hornets. Although the team has not had a successful history of postseason games, they have a large following of devoted fans. This is an area that has a lot of NCAA basketball action, but the need for an NBA team was great until the Hornets came along. Fans love the team, staying devoted no matter what their win and loss record looks like.
The team is currently owned by Michael Jordan, the NBA legend who played for the Chicago Bulls. With their home games taking place at the Spectrum Center, longtime Jordan fans have flocked to this team because of the fact that it is so closely located to Jordan’s alma mater, UNC. This has made tickets to Charlotte Hornets games very popular, especially when the team sees a winning streak. If you’re going to be in the area and want to grab a game, make sure you buy your tickets ahead of time so that you can secure yourself the best prices on the best seats.
