Right Time to Buy New York Jets Tickets

The cost of going to an NFL game can be quite astronomical. We would like to go through some of the things that may help you save some money when purchasing tickets to a football game. When you think about NFL tickets, you automatically think of the expense. If you follow a few steps that we mention below, you may end up saving more than you think.

We consider the experience and memories way more important than the price. Yes, price is the number one reason why people don’t go to games but don’t let that stop you when you want to attend.

Looking for tickets around two weeks before the game is a great time to start looking. Many ticket sellers will list their seats and hope demand increases. You are facing a stadium that travels well from the opponent’s teams. This means that if you are up against teams in the area demand will be much higher. Consider going to a game against a team that doesn’t have a huge local fan base like the Arizona Cardinals.

Another thing to consider when buying tickets to a Jets game is if they are coming off a loss or two. Demand will go down for tickets as well as price. Although you would not want to attend a losing team game, this is a great way to save money.

Where Should You Sit at MetLife Stadium

The most important thing about attending a Jets game is finding the best seat possible. There are thousands of seats at MetLife, but which one will give you the time of your life? Always consider what the possibilities are when you have a great seat.

Lower Level – Football is one of those games when being up close helps. Having a lower-level seat at MetLife is worth the cost. They do have their 50-yard line package which is expensive. These tickets will give you a great experience. Look to sit behind the Jets bench in sections 112-114. If you care more about the opponent then look for the bench seats behind sections 137-140. There are plenty of outside fans so keep that in mind.

The Coaches Club – From all-inclusive setups to better seats, the Coaches Club is an option for you to keep an eye on.

The Mezzanine Level – These seats have really good views around the end zones. Watch these sections for price fluctuations about one week out.

Terrace Level – We suggest you only look at the terrace level if you are on a strict budget or are bringing a big family. These seats will get you in the stadium but the views won’t add up to much. Always keep that in mind.

How About a Suite – Suites and boxes always come with the bonus items you wish for. You pay a premium for these seats, but by the time the game ends, you’ll be happy you paid the price. Look for VIP parking, comfortable seats, private bathrooms, and access to the many different lounges.

Parking Around MetLife Stadium

Just like all stadiums you have to park your car if you plan to drive. Parking passes are mandatory if you want to leave your car. We suggest you get your pass ahead of time. Passes will run you an average of $40, but if it is a big game look for these to go up.

Finding Restaurants Around MetLife

Getting a nice meal before or after the game will go a long way. Unless you plan to tailgate and such, decent food will hook you up. There are a lot of places around town. Here is a couple to consider.

Rutherford Pancake House – Are you looking for a little breakfast before you go to the game? Here is a great spot to soothe that craving for pancakes and beyond. Great food and great service will take you to the game feeling good. Check this game day menu.

Colonial Diner – Here is a sweet spot to fill you up before or after a game. New Jersey loves their diner and this is one to check out for sure. You can even check it out after the game before you head home.

Looking for a Place to Stay

If you are coming from out of town or you just feel like making your experience that much better, a hotel may be in order. The good news is there are a ton of hotels in the region. We list a couple below to help you get started.

Fairfield Inn by Marriott East Rutherford Meadowlands -You are only 2 miles away from the stadium which is a bonus. You have some decent rooms including a hot breakfast. You’ll be looking at around $120 a night. Check on rates.

Meadowlands Plaza Hotel – This is another hotel right near the stadium as well. Not the best of atmosphere but the price works out. You’ll have free parking and a hot breakfast to go along with your stay. You’ll be looking for around $143 a night to stay here.

Making Your Ticket Purchase

Here are a couple of ways you may not have considered when buying New York Jets tickets. We like to think of these two options as two extremes. One, Is Getting Your Tickets Way in advance and the other is getting them at the last second. We go over these options next.

Season Tickets – Grabbing season tickets to an NFL team’s season is a powerful thing. This may not be something that interests you, but if you plan on attending more than one game a season you should consider it. Season tickets carry a lot of weight when it comes to selling your tickets to the games you don’t want to attend. Assuming you have decent seats, you shouldn’t have a problem selling yours. This also gives you the advantage of making money on your investment during the good years. There is always a potential downside to an investment.

Last-minute Tickets – Back in the day, when attending a game you could walk up to the stadium and buy tickets from a scalper. Nowadays, you can walk up to the stadium with your phone and purchase tickets. just before it starts. There are a lot of sellers that list their tickets at the last second because they can’t attend or for some other reason. This is a much riskier option but it could give you a chance to walk up and purchase tickets for very cheap. There is a chance you could get nothing for your efforts, but as long as you know that going into this, you’ll be fine.

The New York Jets Carry a lot of History

The New York Jets were established in 1959 with their inaugural season occurring in 1960. Since the merger with the NFL, the Jets have played in the AFC East. They have one Super Bowl appearance and won. They’ve only won their division two times which is pretty crazy to think about. Although they’ve had several playoff appearances, it’s been many decades since they made a run for a championship.

The Jets of course have several rivalries with teams in their division. You can always expect these games to be more expensive. Playing against the Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, and New England Patriots will always bring out the fans. Even against the shared stadium foes of the New York Giants will be a tough ticket.

Players from the past were pretty good. You have the likes of Joe Namath, LaDainian Tomlinson, Ty Law, Don Maynard, Joe Klecko, Curtis Martin, and Freeman McNeil.

You can always learn more about the Jets online and it may be worth a few minutes of time before you attend a game.

Finalizing Your Purchase

This is the year you will attend a New York Jets game. There are thousands of tickets available for each game during the season and it’s up to you to find the best seat possible. We highly recommend you put the experience and memories first. We are not saying to break a budget but we suggest that you get tickets in certain sections other than the upper deck. You’ll be much happier during the game and after. If you have any questions about buying tickets to the New York Jets game, please let us know and we’ll try and help. Good luck!
