Each year you have to make a decision on whether you go to a New Orleans Pelicans game. Is this the season to make that happen? We want to help you find seats at an affordable price. All major professional sporting events will cost you a good amount of money. Our goal is to make your experience at the game one-of-a-kind. There are times when you can save some money and that is what we will try to do today.
In the listings below you will see New Orleans Pelicans seats for all the upcoming games. The games include from the beginning of the season all the way up to the NBA championship. You will also find both home and away games in the listings. Keep this in mind when researching the game you want to attend. You could possibly come across a parking pass as well. This is a critical piece that we will discuss later on.
Right Time to Buy New Orleans Pelicans Tickets
Determining when to buy your New Orleans Pelicans seats will come down to many different things. We have studied the industry for many years and think we have found a sweet spot for making your purchase. We can’t guarantee you will receive a cheap price but your chances increase on saving if you follow some of these methods.
We like to look for tickets around two weeks before the game you want to attend. This is an area where supply and demand are at a fairly equal level. Once sellers determine demand is starting to reduce, prices will start to drop in the buyer’s favor. This is the timeframe where you should be making your purchase. You must accept the price that you pay in case you come across cheaper tickets.
Finding a game during the week will also save you some money. A game on a Saturday night will most likely cost you more money than a game on a Tuesday night. Demand will be much greater for the weekend.
The other thing you should consider is who the pelicans are playing. Bigger-named opponents in the league will drive ticket prices up. Going to a game against a weaker opponent or one with a smaller fan base will definitely have a smaller price.
Finding the Best Seat at the Smoothie King Center
You shouldn’t have trouble finding seats for the next game. Although the New Orleans Pelicans have a smaller market, there are some excellent seats at the Smoothie King Center. We want to share some of the sections to consider when buying your tickets.
Lower Level – The lower level is considered the more exciting area of the arena. You will have close views as well as the sounds of the game in your ear. This makes the experience much greater than anywhere else in the building. If you would like to sit behind the New Orleans Pelicans bench look for section 111. If you are a fan of the opposing team, look for section 114. Another great area is to watch the players go in and out of the tunnel. You can check out sections 108, 109, 115, and 116.
Floor Seats – Floor seats are something we all strive for. There is a lot of perks to go along with these seats. Close-up views are the best perk, but you also get complimentary parking, all-inclusive food and soft drinks, and access to several clubs around the arena.
Courtside Seats – Put your feet on the court. These seats give you the most amazing access to the game. You have all-inclusive food and soft drinks, complimentary parking, the closest seats to the court, and much more.
Upper Level – We do not spend much time on the upper level. This may be an area where your budget maxes out, but we suggest you fork over a few extra dollars to get into the lower level.
Clubs and Suites – There are plenty of club-level and suite-level seats around the Smoothie King Arena. These seats will provide excellent views as well as a great time. You will have access to parking, an assigned suite attendant, catered food and beverages, access to different lounges, private restrooms, and much more.
Parking Your Car for the Night
Parking passes are pretty expensive at the Smoothie King Arena. You can expect to pay anywhere between $20 and $40 to park your car. You can get your pass ahead of time to save you some hassle when going to the game. You can also look for other parking garages using mobile apps such as ParkWhiz and SpotHero.
Tickets Options to Think About
Purchasing tickets is sometimes a struggle. We want to provide you with some other options that you may not have considered.
Season Tickets – If you thought about purchasing season tickets this may be the year to do it. You have access to all the games during the season. You can also potentially make money on your investment. If you’re willing to commit to selling your seats throughout the season you can demand a higher premium. This will allow you to recoup the money you spent on the games you went to as well as make money on the season.
Single Game Tickets – Most likely you are here to purchase a ticket to one upcoming game. This will cost you the most in terms of premium. Keep this in mind when you decide to go to one game.
Group Tickets – Organizations such as the New Orleans Pelicans will provide you with packages throughout the season. You can select from 2 to 8 games throughout the year. You will not be able to select which games or teams you get to see. This is a great way to bring the whole family to several games throughout the year. You must check your schedule before making this purchase.
Last Minute Tickets – If you have more risk tolerance in your blood it’s okay to go to the game without a ticket. You can walk up to the stadium and purchase your seats from one of the many major ticket distributors. This is an area where sellers were unable to sell their seats at the price they were asking or were unable to attend the game. You have to be aware that you may get shut out from going into the game.
Some Pelicans History
The New Orleans Pelicans are one of the newer teams in the NBA. They were established in 2002 as the New Orleans Hornets. They moved to Oklahoma City and then moved back to New Orleans. They currently play at the Smoothie King Center in downtown New Orleans.
With such a short history they don’t have many banners to show for it. Although they have one divisional title they do not have any Conference or NBA championships. They have made the playoffs a couple of times but are still looking for some postseason luck.
Look for games against the Memphis Grizzlies and Miami Heat to bring in the biggest crowds.
Dinner on the Town
Some people would like to eat outside of the stadium. There are several options around that you should check out. We’ve listed a couple of those choices below.
Maypop – This is a great location serving southern Asian fusion-style food and provides reasonably priced dishes. You’ll receive excellent service and it’s a great place to go before a game.
Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux – New Orleans – This is a great sports bar location to check out before a New Orleans Pelicans game. They have all kinds of burgers and Louisiana eats. The price is right and great for the family. Consider this with great service.
Hotels Near the Arena
A hotel might be in order in case you live far away or are coming in from out of town. Although we provide a couple of options for you to check out, please make sure you do the complete research for a hotel that meets your needs. Check it out here.
Le Pavillon New Orleans – This is a four-star hotel providing you with some luxury around the New Orleans area. You’ll have access to many great things nearby as well as a clean hotel room. You are looking at around $150 a night.
New Orleans Marriott – This New Orleans Marriott will provide you with a four-star stay. All-access to a wine bar and restaurant as well as some great amenities. Consider this for around $130 a night.
Make it Out to a Game
This could be your chance to make it out to a New Orleans Pelicans game. You now have some details to help you save money on your tickets. The NBA is not known for cheap seats so be aware of this when you’re making your decision. Be comfortable with the price you get and always look for the experience first. Do not let an upper-level seat price take advantage of you. Try to sit as close to the court as possible and enjoy the game. If you have any questions about buying tickets please ask. Good luck!
