Lower.com Stadium was opened in 2021 as the second home for the Columbus Crew, after playing their first three seasons at Ohio Stadium. It was the first soccer-specific stadium to be opened in MLS, with a capacity of close to 20,371. MAPFRE hosted the 2015 Cup which nearly saw its won Crew lift MLS Cup. While the Columbus supporters have made the stadium home, it might be best known for the USMNT matches there over the past two decades. A staple location for hosting World Cup Qualifying matches, MAPFRE Stadium saw the US top rivals Mexico with a 2-0 score four straight times. With a new stadium likely in the years ahead, a visit to the historic stadium in Columbus is a must for any soccer fan.

Lower.com Stadium is located on Black and Gold Boulevard north of downtown Columbus, near the Ohio State University. The easiest way to access the State Fairgrounds area is via Interstate 71. The grounds provide plenty of parking. If you are spending the day north of the city a visit to the Columbus Park of Roses or OSU Campus is nearby the Crew. Downtown is located just 7 miles south and is home not only to one of the best breweries in the city but to massive Columbus Crew fans as well – Land Grant Brewing. The brew is an American Wheat Ale named Glory branded with the Crew’s black and gold design.
