The Atlanta Braves are a Baseball Legend
The Atlanta Braves are a steady fixture in Major League Baseball, having originally entered professional baseball back in 1871 as the Boston Red Stockings. But, you cannot confuse the Braves with Boston’s current pro team: the Red Sox. The Braves have gone through a number of changes over the years, but they are still one of the most respected and well liked team in all of MLB. Tickets to Atlanta Braves games are still highly sought after items, and home game tickets often sellout.
The Braves were originally based out of Boston, and changed their name to the Boston Braves in 1912. In 1953, the team moved to Milwaukee. It wasn’t until 1966 that the Atlanta Braves were born, and they’ve been there since. Some great players have played for the various incarnations of the team, most notably Hank Aaron, Greg Maddux, Warren Spahn, and Tom Glavine. Hall of Famer Eddie Mathews is sometimes referred to as “Mr. Brave” thanks to the fact that he had successful seasons with the Boston Braves, the Milwaukee Braves, and the Atlanta Braves. The team has won three World Series championships, one in 1914, one in 1957, and then most recently in 1995. Even though three championships doesn’t put them near the top of the best teams in the league, they have had a huge amount of success. They’ve won the National League pennant 17 times, and they have had some of the best individual players to have ever played the game. Even when the Braves have the rare off year or rebuilding era, they are still one of the most entertaining teams in the game.
Home games for the Braves are played at Turner Field in Atlanta. Tickets to Braves games here are hot items, especially thanks to the fact that they are the most successful team perennially in this part of the United States. If you’ve never been to a Braves game, now is one of the best times that you can go. Whether you’re a long time resident of Atlanta, or just passing through the city for a day or two, Atlanta Braves games are a huge amount of fun.
